This Apartment By Casa 100 Arquitetura In Brazil Integrates Traditional Design Methods
6th May 2018 James Patrick

This contemporary apartment in São Paulo designed by Brazilian architects Casa 100 Arquitetura for a couple integrates aspects of traditional design. The 40m2 apartment features multipurpose furniture and visual homogeneity achieved by incorporating the furniture into the joinery.

The multipurpose design is reflected in the open kitchen counter that serves as the dining room, the yellow furniture in the room converts into a home theater and the bedroom is spacious enough providing room for a home office.

Incorporating the furniture into the joinery creates a unique design and reduces the expenses associated with buying more furniture.

The concrete surfaces that require little maintenance such as the stairs, slabs  and walls are exposed.

Copper tubes often used in hydraulic installation are used as hand rails and they blend with the copper lights in the kitchen.

Inexpensive ceramic tiles are used as floor covering in the wet areas
